🍂 Sporty hike: Les Cluots, autumn in red and gold

Starting from the perched village of Pierlas, the hike begins in a remote, end-of-the-world atmosphere. The trail quickly climbs through the red pelites, those eroded sedimentary lands that so beautifully catch the autumn light. Gradually, the vegetation becomes sparser, giving way to the horizon opening up to the summit of the Cluots. A summit of 2,106 meters in altitude, little-known but highly panoramic over the Cians gorges, the valleys, and the (potentially) snow-capped peaks of the Mercantour.
The loop descent gently brings you back to Pierlas, through shades of gold, ochre, and red. You will long remember those vast clearings that look like steppes during our passage through this particular vegetation, abandoned by herds, and not yet covered by snow. A sporty day (even if the trails present no difficulties), complete and wild, for passionate hikers! One last 2,000m before strapping on the snowshoes!
